Going live / Recording a show
You should already have have a basic understanding of the way that vMix works. If not, it's super easy to pick up just by messing around with it.
Begin with the logo spinner in the PROGRAM output and the virtual set in the PREVIEW pane.
If the show is live, make sure vMix is streaming by clicking the Stream button and waiting until it turns red. If it stays yellow, there is an issue with the stream destination. Click on the settings cog next to the stream button and make sure that rtmp://172.16.10.10 is entered and the stream key is set to "show". Make sure the anchors have the teleprompter scrolled to the top and are ready to begin. If they are, start recording and give a countdown to the anchors. Run the intro by pressing Stinger 1, which will overlay the intro and transition the virtual set to the output. The audio will be automatically mixed with the virtual set input.
All of the aforementioned steps can be done using the stream deck. Each button is labeled with its function.
If a video needs to be played during the show, click on its input in vMix and transition it. When it nears the end, let the anchors know how much time is left and give them a countdown when they're about to go back. When the video ends, transition back to the virtual set.
When the anchors have finished reading the script, select the credits and transition them. Once the credits have finished rolling, select the logo spinner and transition it back. Finally, stop recording to save the file to the computer.
You're done! 🎉 💯 You've made a morning show! Wasn't that easy?
